Each December, the Military Veteran Project spreads holiday cheer to military and veteran families through Operation Holiday Joy — delivering gifts, meals, and hope to those who have sacrificed so much for our nation.
|
Mission Statement: To restore the spirit of the holidays for those who served our country by providing gifts, food, and family experiences that renew hope and connection. About the Program Operation Holiday Joy is a community-driven initiative that brings together volunteers, sponsors, and partner organizations to support military and veteran families during the holidays. What began as a small gift drive has grown into a mission of compassion — ensuring that no veteran or military family in Shawnee County and beyond goes without joy, love, and a warm meal during the season of giving. |

How It Works
1. Family Nominations: Community members can nominate deserving military or veteran families in need of extra support during the holidays. 2. Community Donations: Generous individuals, businesses, and sponsors provide in-kind donations, monetary gifts, and essential household items. 3. Volunteer “Elves”: Volunteers help wrap, sort, and deliver gifts with love during the MVP Holiday Joy event weekend. 4. Delivery of Joy: Each nominated family receives customized gifts, food boxes, and heartfelt support directly from our community. |
