YOU WILL NEVER WALK ALONE

Partnered with our Mind program the Battle in Distress program addresses the mental health and cognitive needs of pre & post 9/11 veterans. BID provides military rehabilitation services at stages during a veterans reintegration & rehabilitation process.

While post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and undiagnosed traumatic brain injury are common after war-time experiences, Military Veteran Project approaches these issues from the veteran's perspective and through peer to peer support. We understand the limited access to medical care, frustrations and the importance of knowing you are not alone in this battle on American soil.

Our approach to meeting mental health veterans services is divided in two parts:

  • We challenge veterans to think about life long goals and understanding their reintegration into the civilian world.  Most veterans start their personal journey with an outdoor, rehabilitative retreat that promotes peer connection, challenging outdoor experiences, and healing with other veterans.

  • We empower veterans with tools to navigate mental health resources which in return, teaches veterans more about the invisible wounds of war such as traumatic brain injuries and PTSD. Videos of other veterans sharing their own experience and strategies, self-assessment tools, and exercises provide valuable insight into readjustment challenges.
