Veteran Issues
Why is it more important than ever to join #22ADAY movement? Because Congress’ actions can impact the lives of veterans and their families. Important veteran legislation is now before Congress. One bill could affect the programs available to assist veterans in need. Congress’ action on appropriations will set the level of funding available to veterans, and in turn, make receiving treatments harder.
This is a critical time for you to be involved. Join #22ADAY and: Send personalized messages to your members of Congress. Urge them to support public policies to improve the lives veterans.
Invite your Representative to join the bipartisan movement and help create a strong voice for veterans in the U.S. House of Representatives. If your Representative is already a member, please thank him/her and tell them of your concern about military suicide, post traumatic stress and untreated traumatic brain injuries.

For many of our brave servicemen and women, transitioning home is challenging. Imagine the strain of leaving family and friends for months on end in an unfamiliar country, enduring battle and seeing your friends fall to the enemy. Then, you come home to banners, beers and thank yous -- but the nation is focused largely on other issues. While you may be needing help, not knowing where to turn. You've lost a sense of serving a greater mission, and working alongside men and women you would trust your life with.
22 Veterans per day, that is 1 veteran every 65 minutes. We can lower this number. But we can't do it alone. We've got to do it together. This is a matter of life and death. But we have to act now. Right now, the Military Veteran Project Battle in Distress program is talking to a veteran in crisis, who needs someone to talk to, to understand and to find resources available. Right now, a Military Veteran Project Battle Buddy is picking up a fellow veteran from one of our partnered medical centers where the veteran met with a pharmacist to go over his medication list for pain management. Right now, a military spouse is locked in her car crying and bearing her soul to a fellow military spouse battle buddy as part of the Military Veteran Project program. Right now, we are raising funds to build a post traumatic stress disorder treatment and traumatic brain injury research facility for pre & post 9/11 Veterans. Right now, you can help raise awareness in your community on the 22nd day of each month by joining the #22ADAY movement.
On the 22nd day of each month in your community, you can create awareness by lining up 22 military boots/crosses/large flags on the side walk with photos and biographies of veterans who lost their battle at home and committed suicide. All you need to do is register to become part of #22ADAY movement. Are you ready to create change & raise awareness in your community?
